Hanger Basics It doesn't take a strong man to untwist a hanger! Just take a good pair of pliers that have teeth, hold the top of the twist tightly, and spin the hanger in the opposite direction! It will come right apart and now you have all of this wire to work with! More Hanger Basics

Just Bend It Bend to hold a garment with skinny straps, wide neck blouses, etc... Grab the top of the wire at shoulders, bend toward the bottom wire and then grab the bottom and top and bend up...For wide neck blouses, cut the center of the straight part with a pair of wire cutters, bend the ends around to form small loops on the ends (to keep from snagging) and spread out the wires...

Need a hook? Got a hanger? Using a pair of wire cutters, cut a section from the straight part of the hanger, about 8". Get rid of the sharp edge by bending one end inward making a tiny hook, squeeze tight, this will be on the hook end. Then repeat on the other end but don't squeeze tight, leave just enough space to place a nail or screw thru the hole. Then bend the wire so that the hooked edge faces inward and the hole is sideways. For drywall, poke a hole using a hammer and nail, smaller than the screw you will be using. Hold the screw inside the hole in the hook and turn. The drywall does'nt hold very well but this will work. Now you have a hook for anywhere you need it! Click here for more details

Paper Towel Hanger Just bend the whole hanger to make a paper towel holder to hang anywhere you need them! Once you've straightened the hanger as skinny as you can, slide a new paper towel roll on.Holding the top of the hanger at the twist so the towels are hitting your hand, bend the hanger straight out at the bottom of the roll, then up.Squeeze the hook in so when the roll is empty, just slip off the top and replace! Nothing perfect about it,it's just handy!

Trash Can Modified This trash can was a bit too short to use the regular 13 gallon trash bags so I modified it.I used a drill for holes on each side of the can and then cut/bent a couple of hangers the size of each end of the can and the height I needed to add a bend for a lip.I fed the wire thru the holes and looped back and around for stability. Now the bag goes right over the top and hangs down so you can't even see the wire!

Dish Cloth Rack Hanging a wet dish cloth on the center of the double sink or on the faucet does'nt let them dry and they get stinky! And just where else are you suppose to put it? So, I came up with an idea. I cut and bent a hanger to about the height of most of the cloths I use. I fed the wire thru an old brake line hose to keep from rusting.I used hot glue on the very ends to keep water out of it.You can throw it right in the dishwasher or a sink of warm water to clean. It fits right behind the faucet and holds the cloth and the sponge. The rubber helps to keep it in place. So handy!

Wood~n~Hangers We were remodeling a bedroom to make it into a 'sitting room' after the kids moved out and needed some shelves for collectables. We had a pile of left over deck boards 8" wide and about 12" to about 2' long, so I put them to use... I took 4 boards and made an offset square so there would be a long piece on each side. Then drilled holes in all four corners of each board.Cut and straightened some hangers, fed them thru the holes in all four corners, bending the ends to hold in place.Starting from the longest board, and working downward,I placed the wire thru and bent to secure.I was a bit leary about putting on too much weight so I tested it before I hung it on the wall. It turned out pretty nice!

Extra Closet Space Instantly My daughter needed more closet space (I know, what's new right?!) so I thru these together to give her more room.I just took a hanger and squeezed the hook around the neck of the next hanger. You don't pull the hanger out, just the clothing on the hanger, kinda like the hangers they have in hotels that don't come off...

Almost Store Bought After seeing an advertisement for this type of hanger,I went ahead and tried doing it with just regular hangers and it worked! How many holders you have will depend on in the size hanger you have.Holding the twist tightly at the top with pair of pliers, turn the hanger. This will untwist the wire and come apart. Straighten the wire as best you can, leaving the hook at the top.Now the tricky part.At the top where the hook is,start bending in a circle, then on down the wire leaving some room in between each holder. It will look a bit wacky at first but it will work out of you keep the wire going in one direction.Stop at about 8" from the bottom to leave room for the hook.Look it over to make sure all the holes are on the same side.Make your hook on the end.

Over the Door Hooks Cut and bend for over the door hooks. I have 2 of these hanging on the bedroomdoor to hold our bathrobes. They can also be used over the shower door but you would need to use a sealer to keep them from rusting or just replace them when they do! Click here for Details
